How to choose a power strip
- Number of outlets. Count the devices you run at the same time and add one spare: a charger always turns up.
- Cable length. 1.5 m reaches the wall from under a desk, 3 m gets to the far corner of a room or behind the TV.
- Switch. One button cuts power to the whole desk or TV corner, so nothing draws current on standby.
- Load. Lanberg strips take up to 2500 W in total: a PC, monitor and router fit easily, a heater together with a kettle does not.
Socket type: E and Schuko
The strips in this category have type E (French) sockets: there is an earth pin in the socket. They usually go into an Estonian wall socket, because the strip's own plug is a hybrid. For your device's plug the rule is: a modern hybrid plug (CEE 7/7), found on most new devices, fits both Schuko and type E; a flat Europlug always fits. An old pure Schuko plug (CEE 7/4) without a hole in the middle will not go into a type E socket.
