Why change the filter
The filter catches hair, food crumbs and some of what is dissolved in the water. Once it clogs, the flow weakens, the water turns stale faster and the pump works harder. A fresh filter keeps the water clean and the pump quiet.
Choosing the right part
- Model. Fountain filters are not interchangeable — check the compatibility in the product description against your fountain's model.
- Pump. Wireless pumps differ in shape between generations. If the old one gets noisy or the flow drops, replace it with a pump carrying the same code.
- Desiccant. The feeder cartridge absorbs moisture and keeps food crunchy; it swaps out without tools.

How long does one filter last? Usually from a couple of weeks to a month. With several pets or hard water, change it more often.
