How to choose a tool

• Battery platform. A battery from one manufacturer at one voltage fits every tool on that platform. Many Batavia tools are sold without a battery and charger — if you already own a platform battery, that is an economical way to grow your kit. For a first purchase choose a kit, or order a battery and charger separately.
• Battery capacity. A higher capacity (Ah) means longer runtime but also more weight. Light jobs are more comfortable with a compact battery.
• Precision tools. Proxxon mini machines suit model making and fine mechanics. A torque wrench tightens bolts to exactly the specified force — car wheels, bikes, engine parts.
• Polisher. A dual-action polisher is safer for beginners and will not burn through paint. A rotary polisher removes scratches faster but takes experience.
• Woodworking. A Kreg pocket-hole jig lets you join timber with screws and no visible fixings — for furniture, shelves and frames.

Working safely

Wear safety glasses and, where needed, hearing protection and a dust mask. Remove the battery before changing a bit or blade. Clamp the workpiece or hold it in a vice so it cannot move. Charge batteries only with the charger of the same platform and store them somewhere dry at room temperature.

FAQ

What does "without battery and charger" mean? The box contains the bare tool only. Buy the battery and charger separately or use ones you already have from the same platform.

Will batteries from other brands fit? No — battery platforms are brand-specific, and batteries and tools from different manufacturers are not compatible.
